UDINUS operates a need-based scholarship programme that reduces or waives tuition for students from low-income households, so that financial hardship does not end a student's education.
In the 2024/2025 academic year the programme supported 486 active students across all five faculties. Awards are tiered: full tuition waiver, fifty-percent waiver, and a fixed living-cost stipend, assigned according to a means test verified against family income documents and, where available, the national social-welfare database (DTKS).
Selection is administered by a committee drawn from the academic and student-affairs bureaus. Applications open twice a year, and outcomes are communicated in writing to each applicant. A total of Rp 4.2 billion was disbursed during 2025.
An internal review found that the one-year retention rate of scholarship recipients was 96 percent, higher than the institutional average, indicating that the support meaningfully keeps students enrolled.
