Universitas Dian Nuswantoro conducted research on how crowdfunding platforms may support economic transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises and low-income communities in Indonesia. The research included a literature review covering theories of crowdfunding, factors associated with success, and applications in developing countries. It also included an analysis of market data to assess the probable impact of crowdfunding on SMEs and low-income communities in Indonesia.
The research observed that integrating automated and manual verification, transparent reporting, and educational features into a crowdfunding platform could increase user confidence and support sustainable development. The activity addressed SME funding challenges and considered the extension of financial resources to economically disadvantaged groups. In this context, crowdfunding was presented as a workable solution for improving economic inclusiveness.
The study concluded that a well-designed crowdfunding platform can be an important tool for economic empowerment by providing accessible financial paths for SMEs and low-income beneficiaries. It also connected crowdfunding with support for innovation and resilience in the digital economy. The activity relates to the goals concerning poverty and education through its focus on economically disadvantaged groups, SME funding access, and educational features on the platform. This research reflects UDINUS engagement with economic inclusiveness and digital approaches to supporting SMEs and low-income communities.
