Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (UDINUS) enforces a smoke-free campus policy across all of its premises in Semarang.
The policy was established under Rector's Decree No. 123/KEP/UDN-01/IV/2024, issued on 15 April 2024. It applies to all students, lecturers, administrative staff, contractors, and visitors, and covers every owned and leased building on campus.
No-smoking signage is installed at 14 building entrances. Campus security officers are authorised to address violations, and repeated breaches by staff are referred to the human-resources bureau. During 2025 the university held four smoking-cessation sessions in partnership with the local community health centre (Puskesmas), attended by 312 participants.
An internal compliance survey conducted in December 2025, covering 850 respondents across all faculties, found that 91 percent observed no smoking activity inside campus buildings during the preceding month.
